Limited
CGE 2K7
Edition
CYE
Released for Colecovision!
The wait is finally over! CYE, the
CGE 2K7 limited edition Colecovision game seen at last
year’s Classic Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada
shipped today to the loyal fans that pre-ordered their
copies of this extremely rare cartridge.
As detailed in past news articles, Cye is the 5th
title from programmer Philipp Klaus Krause and
GameConsoles.com. This special game was produced in
just 52 units; Philipp retained two for his personal
collection and the remaining 50 were sold as an exclusive,
collector’s piece, to attendees of CGE 2K7. This addicting
puzzle game contains 28 levels of one- and two-person play.
It is encased in a unique cartridge casing, and includes a
high-quality label - individually hand-numbered for each
owner. A personalized certificate of authenticity is also
included inside each box, with a foil seal signed by
Midnight Sun Entertainment Group president, Mark
Mazure. The certificates are numbered to match each
cartridge and the seal on the exterior of every box. All
have been shrink-wrapped for protection and for future
“collectability” factor.
Cye is not only a great game to play but also a great game
to collect. We are very proud of this game and the effort
everyone put into making it happen. Thanks again to Philipp
Kraus, Craig Dickinson and the entire GameConsoles.com
staff, as well as the CGE organization for their cooperation
during the show. Most of all, however, we’d like to thank
the fans who continue to support GameConsoles.com and the
independent, classic gaming scene. We hope everyone enjoys
his or her copy of Cye for any number of reasons and
we look forward hearing some feedback from you soon, as the
games begin to hit your mailboxes. We also plan to continue
to bring you new productions very soon. So stay tuned…!

Limited Edition Colecovision game,
CYE
Release delayed until 2008
GameConsoles.com has learned that the release date of
Philipp Klaus Krause’s Colecovision homebrew game, CYE,
has been delayed until early 2008 due to Philipp’s demanding
school schedule. Fortunately, the game is very close to
completion, with most of the remaining work to be put toward
debugging, printing the boxes and assembling the actual
cartridges. In the meantime, click on the link below to
download an updated demo for CYE. We will continue to keep you
updated on this title and we apologize for this unforeseen
delay. Thank you again for your continued support of the
Colecovision, classic gaming and GameConsoles.com!

BREAKING NEWS!
Limited Edition
Colecovision
game,
CYE
Shaping Up to be a Classic!
Attendees of the 2007 Classic
Gaming Expo (CGE2K7) were treated to a special, playable
“sneak peek” of programmer Philipp Klaus Krause’s
Colecovision work-in-progress game, CYE.
GameConsoles.com
demonstrated the cartridge during the show, which ran July
28-29, in Las Vegas.
The demo was very well received
and appeared to generate a renewed interest in the
Colecovision! Since the show, a new, more in-depth tutorial
level, which uses some advanced stuff, like magnets,
monsters and black holes has been created. Rock-spawning
tiles have also been added, and they should appear in the
game’s higher levels. A level designed for two players is
also being incorporated, which requires two players to work
together in order to be completed. Most interesting,
however, is that the game currently contains 26 levels
(that's right ...twenty-six): 4 Tutorial levels, 2
two-player levels, 10 "jungle" levels and 10 "quest"
levels. Overall, the game is coming along nicely, and will
require some final testing and clean-up before shipping this
fall. We'll continue to keep you posted on development!!

BREAKING NEWS!
New Colecovision Game to Preview at CGE2K7!
Programmer Philipp Klaus Krause is at it again…and only
GameConsoles.com has your sneak
peek at his latest Colecovision game! Krause’s latest creation
is tentatively titled, "Cye," and is his port of the classic
computer game "Kye." The game is currently in development,
though it has been completed to the point of a playable demo!
Attendees of the 2007 Classic Gaming Expo (CGE2K7) can
visit GameConsoles.com’s
location during the show, which runs July 28-29, in Las Vegas.
"Cye" is a puzzle game similar to "Boulder Dash," with
elements of "Sokoban," "Crystal Mines" and "Pac-Man." The
object is to collect all the on-screen diamonds to clear each
level. To do so, the player must traverse the maze-like
screen, moving rocks and avoiding enemies in order to
accomplish this goal. The game is colorful, fast and
intelligent. Currently, the demo includes gameplay for only
one player but several options will be available in the full
version.
The screenshot below shows the original game. The Colecovision
version will be based as closely to the original as possible.

GameConsoles.com
Officially Re-Launches with Homebrew Focus
GameConsoles.com has officially re-launched itself as THE
website dedicated to unite videogame players, programmers and
collectors –with an effort to continue the independent
development and production of games for all consoles, past and
present!
Originally launched in 1998, GameConsoles.com was more of a
fan-site dedicated to the history and education of various
consoles. However, the flood of similar sites across the web has
diluted the necessity for just an educational forum. The
positive side effect has been an increased interest in older
consoles, collecting and programming new games worldwide –also
known as the “homebrew” scene. While various collectors,
programmers and gamers have created various resources, no
universal destination has been available to unite all interests
…until now.
We, at GameConsoles.com, want this site to be the one location
for all of your independent gaming needs! If you are a gamer
looking for the latest news in the homebrew scene, a collector
looking to expand your classic library with new titles or a
programmer searching for supplies, we aim to evolve into your
one-stop shop!
Although the website is still in its infancy, the basic
structure has been created. The data and links will be filled
over time. However, we have big plans: Exclusive Games. Club
Memberships. Message Boards. Production Supplies. And coming
soon… our own Production House! We understand that programmers
like to program, though the
development costs can be prohibitive. Reaching your target
audience can also be a lot of work. We hope GameConsoles.com
will provide an outlet to create powerful development teams-
where artists, programmers, and others can contribute their
strengths and insights to help bring creative, new products to
the independent gaming world!
And to prove our commitment to you,
GameConsoles.com is celebrating its re-launch with two major
announcements:
1) We will provide
FREE coverage,
advertising and LINKS to any programmer or developer who has
produced or is in the process of producing a game for ANY
console!
2)
GameConsoles.com just recently unveiled two EXCLUSIVE Colecovision games
that were
available and sold out through this Web Site, and we plan on
selling more Homebrew games in the near future!
Our mission is to expand the independent gaming
community – NOT our wallets! This is YOUR website. We look
forward to your feedback, input and ideas. We welcome your
emails at any time. Thank you for visiting our website and come
back often, as we continue to grow! This is an exciting new
time for us, as well as the independent gaming community!
